Motor Insurers Insolvency Compensation Fund (MIICF) Contribution Rate
MIBI wish to inform Members that as set out in Section 16 (3G)(1) of the Insurance Amendment (2018) Act, The Minister for Finance has agreed to maintain the current percentage rate contribution of 2 per cent for both the 2020 financial year (contributions payable in June 2021) and the 2021 financial year (contributions payable in June 2022).

The Motor Insurers’ Bureau of Ireland (MIBI) has hailed the work of An Garda Síochána after two men were handed jail sentences in Limerick Circuit Court , having pleaded guilty under Section 7 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001 to staging a road traffic collision in order to claim compensation.

Never before has the Bureau had to deal with issues of such geopolitical magnitude, all undertaken while maintaining our regular service and also seeing through the rollout of important new measures which will themselves have a significant impact on the industry.
