MIBI, supported by TEKenable, nominated for Business & Finance Award
The MIBI, supported by TEKenable, has been nominated for a Business & Finance Award. We have been nominated in the ‘Digital Transformation Award’ category based on the work that went into the successful implementation of the Irish Motor Insurance Database (IMID) project, as well as other technical innovations.
This is potentially the second award recognition for the work on the IMID project, following on from its success at the Government’s Better Public Service Awards earlier this year.
The 52nd annual, Business & Finance Irish Business Awards will take place in Dublin’s Convention Centre on Thursday 10th December. Approximately 1,000 business, political, civic and social leaders from Ireland and around the world will be in attendance.
“It is a tremendous honour to be nominated for this prestigious Business & Finance award,” said David Fitzgerald, CEO of the MIBI. “When you look at the calibre of the other nominees in this category, you can see what an achievement it is to receive this recognition.
“We have always believed that IMID was a game-changer for the sector, in the battle against uninsured driving and for safety on Irish roads. Being nominated for this award, alongside the success achieved at the Government’s Better Public Service Awards, speaks to the real impact this project has made.
“We see this recognition as very much a shared honour. None of this would have been possible without the strong support provided to IMID throughout its development and implementation by the Department of Transport, An Garda Síochána, Insurance Ireland and of course, all the insurers and brokers who continue to play a major role in delivering the day to day activations that have made it all possible. We must also acknowledge the excellent work of TEKenable who made this major and challenging project a reality, thanks to their clear commitment and in-depth expertise.
“Ultimately, the key indicator for IMID is the impact it makes on tackling uninsured driving. It has certainly helped reduce the number of uninsured drivers on our roads and we also hope it will now serve as the platform to allow an even better and smarter approach to be introduced in the near future, namely Continuous Vehicle Coverage (CVC).
“We will have our fingers crossed for the 10th December and best wishes to all the other nominees on the night,” Mr. Fitzgerald concluded.
