DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION
Awareness and knowledge are key to embedding diversity and inclusion (D&I) in any organisation and we began our journey in November 2020, with an engaging and informative presentation by Dil Wickremasinghe of Diversity & Equality Works. As part of our MIBI Strategy for 2021 and beyond, MIBI committed to work towards Bronze Level accreditation with the Irish Centre for Diversity (ICD). ICD work in partnership with organisations across Ireland at all stages of the equality, diversity, and inclusion journey. Together, the MIBI participated in their D&I Masterclass with Asari St Hill who provided an overview of D&I and advice on how we might progress our goal of further developing a diverse and inclusive organization.
In June this year, MIBI established a Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Steering Committee who collaborated to finalise our D&I Policy for submission to the ICD. In July, MIBI were delighted to be awarded the ‘Investors in Diversity Bronze award’ and within that category we received the highest grade of Bronze award available. The MIBI D&I Steering Committee will now work towards embedding and further enhancing our D&I policy and will look to achieving our Silver Accreditation Award in 2022.
